Creation of the "Station Expérimentale de Marienau" by the French Steel Industry, the coal industry "Charbonnages de France" and the Saar coal mines to support the development of the post-war coking industry.

1949

Start-up of the experimental battery with 4 industrial scale coke ovens.

1953

Start-up of the first 400kg pilot coke oven

1959

First trials of dry coal charging at Hagondange coke plant (North East of France)

1960

Start up of the first 400 kg movable wall pilot coke oven

1970

Start up of the first industrial COALTEK preheating charging facility at Ironton (USA)

1971

Publication of the first edition of the book "Le Coke, Principes de la fabrication - Recherche de la qualité"

1983

Complete rebuilding of experimental facilities and creation of "Centre de Pyrolyse de Marienau", as a research company (French joint venture).

1985

Celebration of Centre de Pyrolyse de Marienau on 10th october 1985, with the participation of numerous of personalities

1989

Second edition of the book "Coke Quality and Production"

1996

Commissioning of the first Videofil machine, unique equipment in the world for hot inspection of coke oven.

2002

The German company "Zentral Kokerei Saar" located in Dillingen takes shares in CPM Research Company.

2005

Cokes de Carling SAS joins ArcelorMittal Maizières Research and Zentral Kokererei Saar in CPM Research Company.

2010

After closure of Carling coke plant, ZKS takes 50% of shares in CPM.
